oh the excitement

yep, we finally booked our family vacation to disneyland.
we're going in november.
this will be a new experience for all of us - none of us have ever been to disneyland before.
at least once a day izzy will say, "i'm so excited to go to disneyland!"
i love that all of my kids are now old enough to truly appreciate this vacation.
it's gonna be awesome.
for those of you who have been, what do you recommend we see, do, remember to pack and so on?

a little man and his gun

we spent some of labor day weekend down at mark's parent's house. mark's brother, david, and his family also live there so we hung out with them as well. we had a nice time. my sister-in-law just had a baby about three weeks ago so you can guess what i did all weekend...
i hardly let go of that baby. he is so precious.
mark, david and kids did a lot of outdoors stuff all weekend. the kids were in heaven! on saturday they went to delta, utah (yeah, i didn't know where that was either) to dig for fossils. they were lucky enough to find a few. on sunday they went shooting. well, ethan got to go with the older boys...liv had to hang back with us women folk.
mark snapped a few pictures of ethan that i think are hilarious and adorable. he's growing up too fast and these pictures really show that.
apparently he's a good shooter. look at that form!

he shot at some discs with this gun and hit a few.

this is my favorite picture. we're just raising a little gun totin radical over here!
but with a mom like this...
taken a few years ago
...i guess he doesn't have much of a choice!

side note: i'm not a big fan of guns but i don't mind a little target shooting now and then.

while the kids started school this week, izzy started going to a new sitter. her name is kyrina and she is heaven sent. seriously. when the stress of finding someone to watch izzy started to cause me some serious anxiety, my friend lisa (aka my hair stylist extraordinaire) came to my rescue. she told me that her next door neighbor (how luck is that?) watched kids from her home and might be interested in taking izzy. i emailed kyrina, set up a time to meet her and the rest is history.
kyrina is wonderful, awesome and so great! i can't even express the peace of mind i've gained from knowing that izzy is being so well taken care of. i've had the great fortune of having family and close friends watch izzy in the past. and during the summer i had some amazing young women from church who watched the kids. but i knew this fall was going to be different. i was going to have to find someone to watch izzy outside of my normal group.
stress and anxiety. just a little. okay, a whole heck of a lot!
but not anymore.
this situation with kyrina couldn't have worked out better. and izzy loves her. added bonus. i really think that izzy believes she's hit the jackpot. life is good for miss iz. and that makes it good for me.
and really, who wouldn't love spending their days like this -
izzy's favorite food - hot dogs.

a little carousel fun
kyrina sends me pics throughout the day of izzy. yet another reason why she's so dang awesome.
