Roundup

We went to the Roundup today, an annual city fair. Liv said that it was the "best day of her life." Shaved ice, cotton candy, rides, games, face painting...pretty fun way to spend a beautiful summer afternoon! And, yes, Ethan hit the target and dunked a little girl. He was so proud of himself!

Song

This song has been stuck in my head for quite a while now. I really like the song but since I haven't been able to sing anything but this one song, I'm getting a little annoyed by it. Listening to other songs hasn't helped at all. So I've decided to stop fighting it and embrace it. And, share it. Have a listen.

Life of a Housewife

Just a few minutes ago I looked out the window to see my neighbor outside with her kids riding bikes. She's dressed, make-up on and all of her kids are dressed and looking cute. I cringe because it's 1130am and I'm still in my sweats, no make-up and my kids are watching a dvd (it's a school dvd, if that helps) in their pajamas. Now, for half a second I started to beat myself up about it. Then I stopped. I am trying to do better about just letting issues like that go. Yesterday I was out at the park by now. Today not so much. So what. Everyday is different. Even though I haven't made it to the shower yet I've been productive in my home. Good for me!

Dinner Idea

I got this recipe from Amy and it's quickly become a hit in our house. I could just about eat it all by myself, but we all know I love to eat, moving on...

It will totally satisfy your pizza craving without spending a lot of money and without the work of making dough, something I'm not very good at. We usually just have pepperoni on ours because the kids are pretty picky...if it were up to Liv I wouldn't put anything on it. Since that's my only topping, I can make this for under $5. The pepperoni can be costly but it will stretch to make two or three pizzas. So if you are in need of a dinner idea give this one a try. It's so quick, easy and yummy.

French Bread Pizza

1 loaf French bread
1 jar of pizza sauce (walmart's brand is yummy and cheap!)
1-2 lbs shredded mozzarella cheese
favorite pizza toppings

Slice French bread in half lengthwise. Place bread cut side up onto sheet. Pour half of the bottle of sauce onto first slice and spread evenly with a spoon. Repeat with other side. Sprinkle a bit of cheese on top of sauce. Add toppings. Put the rest of the cheese on top of the toppings. Bake at 375 for about 12-14 minutes...until cheese is melted and lightly golden brown. Cool slightly and cut into desired amount. It also keeps well in the fridge if there are leftovers.

And this is what happens to some of my extra pepperoni.

Izzy loves it!

Evening at the park

We had the entire park to ourselves this evening. Of course about an hour after we arrived it started pouring rain...explains why maybe we were the only ones there. Anyhow, it was fun while it lasted. I remembered to snap a few pictures as well.

Izzy wouldn't relax in the swing and insisted on leaning all the way forward. However, this was the first time I was able to convince her that even sitting in it was okay. Isn't she the cutest?

Notice that Liv is sitting sidesaddle on her horse. She explained that she was doing that because that's "what princesses do." Of course.

Looked over...

and this is what I found.

Poor girl! She was starving when we came home from church so I put her in her highchair to eat and a few minutes later she was out.

I wanted a picture of her face so I knelt down, looked and realized that she was flipping me off!

My sweet tired little girl.

Motorcycle Trip

At least once a year Mark and his friend,Matt, go on motorcycle trips together. This year, for Mark's birthday, they went down to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. They had a great time. I'm very grateful that they remembered to take a few pictures.

Promising

This is the official trailer for New Moon. I really enjoyed all of the books, but I admit, I was disappointed by the first movie. So I really have my fingers crossed for New Moon. The trailer looks pretty good and the special effects for Jacob turning into a wolf look promising. Ok, ok, I'm a little more excited about this than I care to admit!
