Mission Call

Evan was called to serve in...

Jacksonville Florida

I know that I already posted through Twitter that Evan received his call but I wanted to give him a proper post. We are all so excited for him! He leaves on July 1.

Purple Hat

From the book Daughters of God by M. Russell Ballard:
Age 3: She looks at herself and sees a queen.
Age 8: She looks at herself and sees Cinderella.
Age 15: She looks at herself and sees an ugly duckling.
Age 20: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too straight/too curly," but decides to go out anyway.
Age 30: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too straight/too curly," but decides she doesn't have time to fix it so she goes out anyway.
Age 40: She looks at herself and sees "too fat/too thin, too straight/too curly," but says "At least I'm clean" and goes out anyway.
Age 50: She looks at herself and says "I am what I am" and goes wherever she wants to go.
Age 60: She looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't even see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world.
Age 70: She looks at herself and sees wisdom, laughter, and ability and goes out and enjoys life.
Age 80: Doesn't bother to look. Just puts on a purple hat and goes out to have fun with the world.
"The moral is, maybe we should all grab that purple hat a little earlier."

Happy Birthday Liv

Liv turned 5 last week! Where has the time gone? It doesn't seem like she should be 5 already. We spent her birthday doing exactly what she wanted to do, which Ethan got really tired of pretty quickly. He learned a few good lessons in patience and going with the flow. Anyway, we spent most of the day shopping. That's already her favorite thing to do! She picked out a few toys, a movie and chose McDonalds as her birthday dinner. I also made a cake exactly the way she wanted it made. Everything pink and princesses. She also wanted a cake and cupcakes. Done. A few months back she had also requested that we go to Chuck E Cheese for her birthday so we did that yesterday. We took her friend, Abby, along with us and they had a great time. Unfortunately, I didn't the camera so I don't have any pictures to share. Happy 5th Liv!

Cupcake Carts

I had my first meeting for work last night. Let me tell you, this job is a dream come true! I think it's going to be so much fun! Ange, owner of The Chocolate, is one of the nicest people you will meet. She's awesome. She built the bakery off of her home and has been doing pre-orders only...till now. As of Tuesday, April 21, there will be a cupcake cart at University Mall just outside of Nordstrom. So come on by and check it out! I promise you won't be disappointed!

The Chocolate

I have a new job! I'm really excited about it! I am the newest assistant baker at The Chocolate. I keep tabs on all the bakeries in the area through their blogs and I ran across The Chocolate's blog a few weeks ago and saw the post about them hiring. So, just for the heck of it, I applied. Ange, the owner, called the next day to set up the interview. It happened really fast! I start a week from today. Can't wait! Their cupcakes are SO yummy! Trust me, I've had almost every cupcake in the valley.

Easter

This year for Easter our family split up into two groups. Funny, I know, but we all had different things we wanted to do. Mark, Ethan and Liv went down to Cedar City to go fishing and hang out with Grandma and Grandpa Williams. The baby and I spent Sunday afternoon at my folk's house. Before the kids left I gave Ethan the camera and told him to take lots of pictures for me, knowing that Mark would totally forget. Ethan did a great job! On Saturday, Grandma Janie took the kids to Zions Park and they loved it. Sunday was spent going through their baskets, going to church (Liv was in love with her dress!), and going on an egg hunt. From all of the stories I've heard it sounds like they had a great weekend! And I appreciated the break. I watched movies, shopped, baked, showered attention on my sweet Izzy...it was very relaxing. Sunday I went to church with my family and then ate an Easter feast. I took carrot cake cupcakes as dessert. They were so delicious! Thanks for the recipe Amy!

Batgirl Video

Liv loved Ethan's batman costume but he never let her wear it so one night while he was taking a shower she went and put it on. She was walking around the house singing the batman theme song so I grabbed the camera. She was a little distracted after that but I love that she is trying to look at the camera the whole time. So funny!

Old Video

I just came across a few old videos of the kids that are adorable, if I do say so myself. It's crazy how fast they grow up! I wish they could be that size a lot longer than they are, even though at the time I thought they were difficult. I love Ethan's little voice and his way of explaining things...his personality hasn't changed too much. Anyway, here's a trip down memory lane. Laura, you will be able to tell what the time frame is based on his comments.
