Last List

#1 - Went on a date with Mark for the first time in a few months
#2 - Laughing
#3 - Watching my kids dance
#4 - Warm soup
#5 - Having a better outlook partly because of doing this list

I must admit that this week was much smoother for me and I'm going to attribute part of the reason for that to this list. I have been more relaxed and focused on what I really should be enjoying in life. I will continue this on my own but it was also fun to put it out there for a week.

#3 - Watching Ethan enjoy his tumbling class

My Kids & Old Habits

Ok, I know this is a horribly small picture (it was taken with my cell phone and I can't figure out how to change the dimensions) but I absolutely love it. Everyone was in such a good mood this morning so I couldn't miss a chance to take a picture. I adore these kids!

On another note, I've been feeling a bit negative these days...you name it, I'm negative about it. Now I know I have a lot to be thankful for so I'm thinking that I will start up an old habit I had once upon a time. Every night before bed I would write down five things that had happened that day that I was grateful for. It really helped me to focus on the positive and not so much on the negative. So, for this week, I am going to post those five things on this blog every night. If you find yourself in the same situation, join me by listing your five things.

Friday Grateful List
#1 - My smiling, happy baby
#2 - Ethan helping Liv with her school work
#3 - My new black shirt
#4 - A husband who put my comfort above his
#5 - Pilates, my only source of exercise for today

History

No, I'm not going to get political but I wanted to share what I did with my children today. Whether you voted for Barak Obama or not, you can't deny that today was a truly historical day when he became our new president. I wanted my kids to remember that they sat and watched him being sworn in so I made them stand in front of the tv while I took a picture. Unfortunately, I didn't turn the lights on for the first picture and it came out dark. So I had them take another one while he was giving his speech. Anyway, I am excited to have witnessed such an event and look forward to seeing what the next four years bring.

So Grateful...

for Mark. I just have to take a minute and say how much I appreciate my husband. We had quite the year in 2008 (moving around, his tough job, new baby) and he has been patient, supportive and just plain wonderful throughout. The best decision I ever made was to marry him and I've loved every day since. I love you Mark!
