We are back! The kids and I are back anyway. Mark is finishing up the extended program in Texas and should be back in a few weeks. I am staying with my folks until he returns. Hopefully we can visit with all our Utah friends very soon!

Isabelle Garrigan

One of the last things to happen in Indiana was the birth of our little Isabelle Garrigan. Thank you to Amy for posting a few pictures for us on the day she was born. Here are a few more. And, by the way, she is still a sweet little baby! She is already getting so big. We love having her in our family.

Shedd Aquarium

We were also able to visit the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Thanks to Melanie for letting us use your pass! It's a really nice aquarium - whales, dolphin shows...its great! We decided to ride the train into the city which was a first for the kids so they thought it was awesome. On the way home, we had to stop at Nordstrom downtown to use the bathroom and the kids couldn't help stopping to check out the Lego store. A cute little Lego lady was sitting right outside the store.

One of our biggest events this Summer actually took place in Virginia, where I grew up. My grandparents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June and requested that all their family come out and celebrate with them. Unfortunately, Mark wasn't able to take time off to go with us but the kids and I were able to fly out there for a week. We had a blast! Most of my relatives had never met my kids and it had been almost 10 years that since I had last seen some of them as well. My grandparents live on a lake so we spent quite a bit of time on the "beach." The kids love my brothers and pulled them out into the water with them as much as they could. During one of the parties that my grandparents had (there were two) we took some family pictures which consisted of my family, all the grandkids and all the cousins. Also, before we left Virginia, my parents thought it would be fun to take everyone to Kings Dominion, an amusement park. When we lived in Virginia we loved going to there, we had season passes. Anyway, it was so much fun to go again and take my kids there - never thought I would have had the opportunity to do that! Thanks Mom and Dad! It was a blast!

Let's start at the very beginning...

Howdy! We made it to Dallas ( we are actually just south of Fort Worth) in one piece and we love it down here! Mark's cousins are in the area and we have been spending as much time with them as we can. They are awesome! In fact, I am using his cousin Ian's computer to post this blog. Thanks Ian and Amy! We were able to load my pictures from our Summer in Indiana onto their computer so the next few blogs will be covering a few events from beginning to end that I wasn't able to post in Indiana. One of our first visits to Chicago was when I took the kids to the Lincoln Park Zoo with some of the other wives in the office. It's a small zoo but it's free so we loved it! The kids almost had more fun climbing on the statues of the animals than actually looking at the living animals.
